After writing the biography of the Ulster entrepreneur and philanthropist Dr. TBF Thompson in 1985 Derick Bingham was led by God into a booklet-writing ministry for the TBF and KL Thompson Trust. These booklets see in the culture an opportunity for the Gospel. The Trust seeks to place them in the historical setting of the area of the story covered.

The first, for example, entitled ‘ A Love Unknown’ was placed in the Parish Church by Wordsworth’s grave in Grasmere in the Lake District of England. Another on the haunting epitaph on WB Yeat’s grave was placed in the Parish Church by his grave in Sligo, Ireland: the response  to this booklet through the grace of God has been nothing short of phenomenal. Another booklet on the Christian side of the famous Guinness family has had an amazing journey into fascinating corners across the world.

A new booklet on Patrick is crossing all kinds of barriers, as does another on Da Vinci entitled ‘Leonardo’s Greatest Enquiry’ which is also published in French and Italian. It is humbling to see people, through prayer and guidance, use these booklets in amazingly diverse ways in their Christian witness.
